IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NORTHPORT SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF FUGAWI GOOGLE™ EARTH PLUG-IN Fugawi GPS Mapping Software Interacts with Google Earth in a New and Powerful Way TORONTO, Canada – Northport Systems, Inc., a leader in GPS mapping software and innovative GPS applications, announced today the release of the innovative Fugawi GoogleTM Earth Plug-in for its popular Fugawi Global Navigator and Fugawi Marine ENC software products. The new Plug-in allows Fugawi users to view their current GPS location on geo-referenced Google Earth images next to actual maps or charts in split-screen mode. This combination of detailed cartography and high-resolution aerial photography provides users with better visual awareness and enhanced map information. When connected to the internet, the Fugawi Google Earth Plug-in will automatically download Google Earth images of the current GPS location for split screen viewing in Fugawi Global Navigator or Fugawi Marine ENC, enabling users to display their GPS position on a Google Earth map. Users can also overlay Fugawi supported third-party maps and charts on top of Google Earth imagery and adjust layer transparency as well as transfer non-copyright protected maps for permanent use in Google Earth.
